Short & Neat 🧨
Enjoyed listening to George Hotz: Hacking the Simulation & Learning to Drive with Neural Nets | Lex Fridman Podcast #132.
I will make sure to share my notes on this one soon.
Make sure you also check George Hotz: Comma.ai, OpenPilot, and Autonomous Vehicles | Lex Fridman Podcast #31Google blog post on a range of new ML-based features to improve search. Prompts the thought - which, exactly, should a competition authority ban?

Is Stupidity Expanding? Some Hypotheses. To be explained: It feels to me that in recent years, people have gotten stupider, or that stupid has gotten bigger, or that the parts of people that were always stupid have gotten louder, or something like that.
This week I started binge-watching the 30X40 Design Workshop YouTube channel. I was aware of it for some time, but this was actually the first time I've managed to get deeper into the videos. This guy might be a real-life Hannibal Lecter from one point of view.
You can read one piece I wrote some time ago called A Hannibalistic Approach to Life.
Channel description
Architecture tutorials, portfolio and design advice for students and professionals, architecture short courses, sketching and drawing workshops, architectural essays, product + book reviews. Videos are released once a week - on Thursdays - revealing the thinking, the process and the ideas behind the making of architecture with a focus on residential design. It's an inside look into a growing architecture practice on a small island in Maine.
Video I really enjoyed this week
If you are a creator of any kind, you can also check a video called:
How to Get Architecture Clients (for Architects + Students)
Although this might have a generic title, the contents of the video are solid. It gets you through the ins and outs of what you should do to get yourself out there and get more clients. Again, you can replace the word architecture here and the model will fit for pretty much all of you creatives out there.
Things explained in the video:
1:20 Referrals - who (specifically) to reach out to
3:27 Building Awareness - start with this little hack
4:02 A must-have tool
4:59 Content Marketing - put all your design assets to work
7:35 Your portfolio
9:23 What to do if you don't have a (strong) portfolio
10:26 The Socials - which ones to start with + $$ value
14:47 Email list - know, like + trust (automated for you)
16:29 What would this look like if it were easy? Don't miss this.
17:54 Always a Student - videos, podcasts, books + resources to help you

That said, how’re you and yours doing this week? Any major changes to your status quo, or are things fairly locked-in and predictable at the moment?
I respond to every email I get—consider sending me a message and telling me a bit about yourself and what’s been up in your world.
