Free softwareThe company created a product that people have come to rely on and then suddenly changed the terms of its use. It’s not a good look for a company that helps you access your bank account, Facebook login, Gmail, and so on.
Drones Will Change The Insurance Industry
3D printing and affordable consumer models significantly lowered the financial bar of owning a drone. Since 1935, drones have existed as specialty tools, primarily for military reconnaissance and in niche hobby scenes.
Drones and Insurance
Now, imagine a scenario where you got in a car accident. Rather than calling 911 for potential injuries and waiting for 60-90 minutes for an ambulance and law enforcement to assess a scene, your phone or onboard system will send out a distress message. This will trigger a drone to fly out in less than 10 minutes to assess the scene of the accident, the health of the drivers, and damage to the vehicles.You can also read more about the History of unmanned aerial vehicles.
I've recently started inline skating. Then I thought: what are the benefits? Here’s a quick one for easy digestion.
Here’s something more dense (research paper) on Valuing the health benefits of active transport modes:
…the intensity factors of different active modes are as follows:
• 1 minute of walking is equivalent to .7 minutes of skateboarding.
• 1 minute of walking is equivalent to 0.5 minutes of cycling or roller skating.
This time equivalency is accepted in health research, and means that only 15 minutes of cycling or roller skating is necessary to obtain moderately active status health benefits. Skateboarding for 21 minutes per day is sufficient to obtain health benefits.
I was later watching The Birth of Rollerblading: Cycle-Skating (1923).
If you want to start blading, check out Danny's tips for Urban beginners.
Following that (3) train of thought, I was watching a quick video on a guy earning 8000€ per month from food delivery who’s (apparently) world's fastest Wolt courier. The guy is doing this using an electric unicycle.
Now, this is yet another significant example of why Compression = Intelligence.The speed is obviously dependent on a lot of aspects such as: the city infrastructure, how tall buildings are, traffic, accident rates, stress, crime. It is still a pill for thought.
I was reading 995 experts opinion: AGI / singularity by 2060 [2021 update];
The most pressing question: When will the singularity happen? Before the end of the century.
